7:45-9am, Mindfulness Meditation Summer Adventure, With Dani
8 January 2020 at 6:45 pm - 8:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:45 pm on Wednesday, repeating until 29 January 2020

Mindfulness meditation has been practiced for thousands of years within yoga and other Eastern traditions. More recently it has become popular in mainstream western society as a tool for managing the stresses of modern life, including school and work. It has become a key part of care plans for managing chronic health conditions, prescribed by doctors alongside pharmaceutical medications. With the mental health of our young people statistically becoming more vulnerable, and sleep issues prevalent in our society, more and more health and wellness professionals are encouraging the practice of mindfulness meditation as an essential part of our daily care routines.
The definition of Mindfulness Meditation is to become aware of the present moment with open curiosity and non judgement. When we practice in this way, we are also toning the vagal nerve, becoming agile with-our nervous system, building the strength of our attention and resourcing ourselves from the deep well of loving kindness and self compassion reserves within us.
This practice invites us on a journey inwards, to become more familiar with our inner landscape, to understand more intimately our body-mind relationship, and to fully experience the joy of feeling and sensing the vitality of life in the moment. Through this practice we learn and refine the skills we need to live wholeheartedly.
