9 years ago, juggling motherhood and work, I walked into a group fitness class for the first time in nearly a decade. I was simply trying to carve a little space and time for myself amongst the madness, but what I found was so much more. Not only did I find strength, calm, a rediscovered passion for movement, and an amazing community of women, I found my new path. Within a year I was teaching classes, studying part time, and well on my way to so much wonderful.
As my two girls grew, it became increasingly apparent to me that the world their childhood inhabits is so completely different to the one in which I grew up. More than ever our children need, and indeed embrace when given the opportunity, the strength and calm that yoga brings to their developing minds and bodies.
I have been running Youth Yoga Hobart for nearly two years now, since completing my Rainbow Kids Yoga qualification. Bringing movement and mindfulness to children through yoga is truly a joy and a privilege, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Yoga From the Heart community.
