I loved yoga from the first shoulder stand.

Dani is a qualified teacher (Diploma of Education, 1993) and completed a two-year yoga teacher training course with Kate Pell in Brisbane in 2007, including Yoga for Pregnancy teacher training. She has been teaching yoga for 12 years, ten years at Yoga from the Heart in Hobart. Dani holds ‘Level 2 Yoga Teacher’ certification with the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia.

“My yoga journey began in Melbourne in 2000 after being inspired by spending several years immersed in Eastern culture while living in Vietnam and China. I found a small Iyengar class being offered in a church hall around the corner and loved it from the first shoulder stand! My passion for yoga grew, and with it my desire to learn more about the philosophies, techniques and application of yoga to everyday life, leading me to complete my Yoga Teacher Training in 2007.

Symbolically, it was love that brought me to the heart shaped island of Tasmania in November 2007, and it was grace that I became a student of Clare Raffety (senior teacher and founder of Yoga from the Heart) soon after. I have had the incredible privilege to be mentored by Clare and to develop as a yoga teacher under her expert guidance. I have been teaching at Yoga from the Heart since 2008.

I love the early mornings, and amongst other classes, I have particularly enjoyed offering Early Morning yoga at the studio for ten years. You will see me teaching the Beginners Foundation Course and can join me for holiday workshops exploring the safe practice of the many potent and wonderful poses under the category of Inversions.

Another passion of mine is prenatal yoga. I have taught pregnancy yoga at the studio from 2010 and since expanding my own family with twin girls in 2013, I have offered one-day Prenatal Yoga Workshops to support women with yoga practices that bring ease and confidence along the sacred and wonder-filled journey into motherhood.

I feel deeply lucky to have a beautiful space to practice yoga at the base of our mountain, Kunanyi. My own personal practice and my teaching is strongly influenced by the Anusara style of yoga that combines nature, sound biomechanics, breathing practices and creative sequences with heart-centred themes and poetry that flavour each class. I look forward to welcoming you and exploring this yoga approach together.
