Lachlan and Lauren Jefferys

Lachlan – I’m sure there are many paths to attain a good degree of mindfulness. My own wanderings led me through the arts, yogas, tantras, etc… and eventually I found the Satipaṭṭhāna, an ancient practice that translates to the Setting Up of Mindfulness.  This is the best practice of mindfulness I have come across and was taught to me by Lama Karma Chimé Shore.

Chimé comes from a very long lineage of mindfulness teachers including HH 16th Karmapa, Ven. Kalu Rinpoche and Ven. Sayadaw U Thila Wunta. His central teacher was Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche, a very early western rinpoche and a thera (elder). This lineage goes back 25 centuries to Gautama Buddha. Although I am not a Buddhist, I appreciate that over the past 2500 years people have been adapting this practice and passing it on as the world changes and presents new challenges.

 

Lauren has a deep and sincere interest and practice of heart based inner work.
Having discovered the health benefits of Mindfulness and yoga at a young age, Lauren has gone on to study various insight and healing traditions including Pranic Healing, Transpersonal Art Therapy, Reiki Tummo, Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, Traditional Mindfulness and Metta Practice.
With a genuine wish to be of help in the world, Lauren is offering classes in Metta practice as well as Yoga, in the hope of passing on inspiration, knowledge and useful tools to help traverse life’s many challenges and bring about a sense of calm, stability and warmth in an ever-changing world.
