I loved yoga from the first I was so inspired by the way yoga enhanced my experience of pregnancy,birth and early motherhood.

Meredith is a Level 1 Yoga Teacher registered with Yoga Australia.  She has been practicing yoga for twenty-two years, beginning as a student of Iyengar yoga in Sydney in 1995 and continuing to learn with many wonderful teachers from different yoga traditions since then.

“I moved to Hobart in 2006, and found my way to Clare Raffety’s inspiring classes at Yoga From The Heart, appreciating the combination of heartfelt philosophy and sound physiological knowledge and attention to detail that informed the yoga practice.  This approach is also why I chose to undertake the wonderfully in depth Elemental Yoga Teacher Training with Clare at Yoga From The Heart in 2013.

Now mother to a rambunctious 7 year old boy, I was clear from early in my pregnancy in 2010, that I wanted to draw on the many supportive practices offered in prenatal yoga to nurture myself through pregnancy and prepare for childbirth.  After my son was born, postnatal yoga offered a similar opportunity to enjoy meeting with other mothers, now with their babies. I again experienced the benefits of the poses, the breathing and the relaxation practices that yoga provides and which mothers can take beyond the classes into their lives.

I was so inspired by the way yoga enhanced my experience of pregnancy, birth and early motherhood that I chose to pursue specialist training in Pre and Postnatal yoga teaching with Bliss Baby Yoga Training in 2014 and with Anahata Giri from One Heart Yoga and Meditation in 2015.  I am committed to and passionate about expanding the reach of pre and postnatal yoga so that more women may benefit from the practices, as well as the wisdom and knowledge that is so often shared by mothers when they come together.”

Especially for new mothers and pre crawling babies.   Weekly classes offer staged, appropriate restorative practices with attention given to recovery of the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles as well as relieving tension in the upper back, shoulders and neck as mothers adjust to life with a newborn.  Relaxation and breathing practices offer mothers ways in which to calm and connect with themselves and their babies.  The classes are informal, friendly and safe spaces in which to enjoy time with…
